GHOSTS DO BUY
TICKETS

Directed by Samuel J. Attias

Synopsis

He calls himself a screenwriter.

Hollywood calls him nothing.

He's broke, rejected, and talks to a poster of Michael Curtiz.

His last script? A ghost story. His last hope? That someone still believes in film.

He keeps typing. Because deep down, he still thinks stories matter.

Even if no one's buying.

Today, only big names have access to film.

We're living in a time where AI generates full scenes. Where speed replaces craft. Where the process is disappearing.

For us, shooting on film isn't nostalgia, it's resistance. A way of saying we still believe in the work. In light, texture, imperfection.

This is our generation's quiet rebellion. A way to say: cinema still matters.

Samuel J. Attias

Writer & Director

Samuel J. Attias is a French screenwriter and director who studied at Columbia College Chicago for five years, where he honed his cinematic voice.

At just 18, he directed his first feature film, Murmure de la jeunesse. His second, Wisteria, a Western shot in France, was selected at several American festivals.

Driven by an enduring passion for Golden Age cinema, Samuel draws inspiration from masters like Michael Curtiz, Joseph H. Lewis, and John Ford. His work is a visual quest, a belief that storytelling begins with images, not formulas.

French filmmaker. Cinephile. Storyteller.
This is his most personal film, a tribute to ghosts, scripts, and the dream of Hollywood.
